In reading the 1840 Wexford Independent, there was an Australian emigration office in Gorey. On 11/26/1840 there was a short blurb: "vast numbers of people from your town [Gorey] and neighborhood proceeded on the three ships - Cormandel, Andromache and Theresa, to Port Phillip in Australia."
