Here is some information that may be of help. I do have an Elouisa Wheat
born in 1815. The Wheats came to Texas (Tyler County) from Alabama in 1835.
There are Goodes in this area of Texas also. Hope this helps.

Descendants of Josiah Wheat

Generation No. 1

1. JOSIAH2 WHEAT (ZACHIRIAH1) was born September 03, 1779 in Virginia, and
died June 04, 1850. He married MARTHA FLETCHER October 15, 1812 in Madison
County, Ala, daughter of WILLIAM (CAPTAIN) and REBECCA MOORE. She was born
May 23, 1791 in North Carolina, and died 1854.

Notes for JOSIAH WHEAT:
1840 Citizens of Texas, Gifford White: Arrived 12/1835, conditional
certificate (1) Lg(1) Lb(1). Unconditional certificate Jasper Co, March 1838.

Born in Virginia; came to Tyler County, Texas in 1835; named Locating
Commissioner for Menard District, 1841. Donated lands for Woodville, County
Seat of Tyler County, Texas 1846.

Excerpt from _______________________________ in LDS library, Friendswood in
section about Tyler County. "..Town Bluff named temporary county seat. On
August 18, 1846, the commissioners nominated three locations for the
permanent seat of government; a site on Dr. Josiah Wheat's survey on the
forks of Turkey Creek; Town Bluff and a location on a ridge on Henry Cravey's
land on Wolf Creek. Turkey Creek location was chosen and on June 1, 1847
Wheat conveyed to the commissioners 200 acres of land for county purposes.
The town was named Woodville in honor of George T. Wood, who had introduced
the bill to create the county."

Children noted in Census, Madison County, Alabama 1816.

Information from "Bonnie Wommack fo Naples, Texas" - It is believed that the
five Wheat brothers that came to Texas descended from Zacharia Wheat of
Virgina. Samuel, Benjamin, Josiah, John and William were all born in
Virginia. They made their way down through Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas, and
finally settling in Texas. In 1816 Benjamin, Samuel, Josiah and William were
in Madison County, Ala. John was livling in another county in Ala at the
time. Benjamin, Josiah and William were all listed in the 1830 Ala census.
William and Esther Stephenson Wheat were shown to have 5 sons and one
daughter. (We only have knowledge of Robert S., Samuel and Henry.) William
and Josiah emigrated to Texas while it was still the territory of Mexico.
William came to the red river County in 1833. Josiah came in 1835 and
settled in the Tyler County area. Benjamin came in 1836 or 1837 and settled
in the area of Texas that is now Delta County. Samuel came in 1847.
