In regard to Devorah's message. The Benjamin White who was the son of John
White, Sr. and Mary Ann (Patterson?) married Rachel Dayley. John and Mary
Ann lived in Strabane Twp. (later North Strabane Twp.) near Canonsburg, PA.
This Benjamin later settled in Middletown, OH where he died in 1815. By the
way, does anyone have any more info on this Benjamin White and Rachel Dayley
or on John White I and Mary Ann (Patterson?)?
John and Mary Ann's children were:
1. Jane/Jean m. Henry TAYLOR
2. James m. Mary "Polly" ROSS
3. John II m. Ann BONAR
4. Samuel m. Mary HENDERSON
5. William m. either an Anne or Sarah/Seara
6. Nathaniel m. Margaret McClure LITTLE
7. David m. Unknown
8. Patterson m. Ellen RODENTROF
Ellen later m. William SANKEY
9. Benjamin m. Rachel DAYLEY. Rachel later m. Daniel GILSON
10. George m. Unknown
11. Mary m. James ROSS II.
Also supposed to have been 7 other children. One daughter either died young
or ran off with a family unapproved boyfriend during the move westerward to
Washington Co., PA (about 1771) and returned to area from which they had
come (Chester Co., PA, Lancaster Co., PA or Cecil Co., MD), married the
young man and was cutoff from the family. Four sons are supposed to have
died in infancy or early childhood. Two sons (one perhaps named Matthew)
died as young adults leaving no descendants.
