Hello all my Whitney cousins! I have found more info on a descendant of John
and Elinor Whitney.

ABRAHAM WHITNEY-4 (Moses-3, Richard-2, John-1) b. 29 May 1692 Stow, Mass; d. 15
Sep 1778 Stow; married at Stow on 16 Jul 1767 ELIZABETH FARLEY "of Harvard" b.
28 Mar 1704. (Note: This was Elizabeth's 2nd marriage. She married 1st in
Billerica on 6 Sep 1724 Lt. John Shed b. 6 Sep 1699 Billerica; d. 3 Jan. 1754.
Elizabeth & John Shed had 8 children.)

Our database shows Abraham Whitney also married MARY STONE. I would assume that
Mary Stone was Abraham's first wife, noticing how old he was when he & Elizabeth
Farley married.

Jeanne, I also have some other info from the Cutler book.

- Mehitable Whitney (dau. of Jonathan and Susannah Whitney of Holliston) b. 27
Dec 1719, d. bef Dec 1768, m. David Cutler b. 7 Oct 1721 (David m. 2nd wife 28
Dec 1768). I can only find one Jonathan and Susannah Whitney in WHITNEY10 (with
no children listed) and the dates seem to be right. Can I assume this is a new
branch that we don't have? I can provide a good bit of info on this branch if
you want it, but, it will take some time to organize.

- Lydia Whitney (dau. of Levi Whitney of Harvard, MA), m. Tarrant Cutler in
1796.

- Abijah Whitney of Barre, Vt. m. Harriet Abigail Cutler 1 Jun 1880.

- Molly Whitney (dau. of Ephraim Whitney) b. in Pepperell, MA, m. James Cutler
(b. 18 Feb 1743).

- William Whitney m. Lucy E. Whitney May 1858, she was b. 23 Dec 1838 in
Bennington, VT and d. 3
Oct 1865.

--> Loren, I didn't find any of the above Whitneys EXCEPT
Mehitable. I found her & the other children of JONATHAN WHITNEY and SUSANNAH
WHITNEY in the New England Historical Register, Vol 11 p225. (Notice the
spelling of her name is different, but it's the same person.)

This is Jonathan-3, Benjamin-2, John-1.

According to my records, the children of Jonathan & Susannah (Whitney) Whitney
were:
1) Susanna b. 20 Jan 1702/1703 m. Gershom Eames
2) Jonathan b. 17 Oct 1704; d. 1755 m. Lydia ?
3) Kezia b. 31 Jul 1706 m. Abraham Jones
4) Dorothy b. 28 Aug 1708 m. Ebenezer Hunt
5) Mary b. 28 May 1710 m. Joseph Jones
6) Lydia b. 3 Mar 1711/1712
7) Jesse b. 8 Feb 1713/1714
8) Hannah b. 11 Feb 1714/1715
9) Elias b. 14 Nov 1716
10) Mehetabel b. 27 Dec 1719 m. David Cutler
11) George b. 12 Aug 1721; d. 1752 m. Sarah Cozzens
12) Eleanor

We only have a FEW descendants of their son Jonathan (b. 1704) so if you have
more, please send it on in.

Thanks to Allan Green for the WONDERFUL early marriage records! I hope to get
into more research shortly. Have been spending more time with other things &
will get back to it soon & will have more to report.

Remember that I have the GEDCOM of all the Miscellaneous Whitneys being
researched by our members. This contains all of the "unconnected" Whitneys
(that is, unconnected to either John & Elinor of Watertown, or the Whitneys of
Connecticut) and includes any information the member may have submitted to us
about their people. It's called MISCWHIT.GED and I'd be glad to share it with
anyone interested.

All of the new members might want to get in touch with me so their family can be
included. Be sure & give me dates and places (even if guesses).
