Alice and all,

Our common ancestor, Jabez Whitney, is going to be a puzzle for a while
longer. I had occasion to examine the records (compiled) for North
Yarmouth at the Library of Congress on Friday. They are exactly as
reported by Peg Sanborn and crew. Whereas Jabez may have been listed as
being "of North Yarmouth" and his intention to marry Abigail Wheeler in
Chesterville was published in the N. Yarmouth records, there is no record
of his birth nor anything that I could find that might tie him in to any
other Whitney family. <sigh!>
