Hello, I am a descendant of William Wesley McGee who was a brother to
Timothy William(s) McGee. I have been doing research on this line
but have failed to find documentation as to their parents. I have
been told by several older family member that their parents were
"Darby" McGee (could have been a nickname), and Sally Willcut. I
also saw the listing in the 1860 Smith Co., TN census of the George W.
McGee family and wondered if this could be their family. My
grandfather, William Sampson McGee (William Wesley's son) talked
about his father having brothers named Timothy Williams McGee, George,
and Jerry (may have been Jeremiah) but he never mentioned sisters.
If you have documentation of this being the same family could you
tell me where you found it. I also have a lot of addition info on
Timothy Williams McGee's line through his daughter Mary Belle McGee.
Several members of her line have married into the William Wesley
McGee line and are close relatives of mine who live in Nashville, TN.
I would be happy to compare notes and give you any info I have.
Mary Belle's daughter, Lillie Jane, is still living and is in her 90s.
She gave me a lot of information that coincides with yours plus
other info.
I am new at this computer stuff so you have to be patient with
me. I have not put my info on the internet yet because I'm not sure
how or whether it's all correct and I wouldn't want to mislead anyone.
