A few notes I made a few years ago just came to light and I thought I'd
copy them for you all in the hopes that they might add some information
for someone.
From: Annals of Warren"(Maine)
"Annals of the Town of Warren in Knox County, Maine with the Early
History of St. Georges, Broad Bay, etc. by Cyrus Eaton. A.M." p646
WHITNEY, John, b. in Lincoln,Mass. in 1777, came from Union to Warren in
1819, m. Lydia RUSSELL; resided Warren, near Mt. Pleasant and died Nov
6, 1851. Their children:
1. John (2nd) m. Jane Keff (or Kiff --I can't ALWAYS read my own
writing)resided Centreville,RI.
2. James, b. 1 Sept 1813; m. Belinda S. (Orff)Day, 22 Feb 1852, resided
NE Warren.
3. Russell, b. Jan 1816, m. Henrietta L. McKellar of Camden, 26 Sept
1852 and d. 22 Nov 1859.
James' Children:
1. Lavinia E. b.20 Mar 1855 in Warren
Russell's Children:
1. Lydia J. b. Nov and d. Dec 1853
2. Alden R. b. 14 Feb 1855, in Warren

Lydia RUSSELL, wife of John WHITNEY b. ab 1779 resided Warren and d.
June 1858, dau of Levi RUSSELL of Plymouth, Mass, probably of English
Puritan descent, served as a soldier in the war of the Revolution; m.
Hannah SIMMONS of Duxbury, Mass, settled and resided and died in
Waldoboro."

I have a few more notes to copy and will get to them.
