As per Mike's request, here is my WHITNEY line of descent:

John WHITNEY and Elinor
John WHITNEY, Jr. and Ruth REYNOLDS
Benjamin WHITNEY and Abigail HAGAR
Ensign David WHITNEY and Rebecca FILLEBROWN
Jonas WHITNEY and Sarah WHITTEMORE
Jonas WHITNEY and Betsey RAYMOND
John PERKINS and Polly Everett WHITNEY
Harrison PERKINS and Almira HOAR
Myra Adelia PERKINS and Charles Henry SMITH
Ernest Charles SMITH and Mildred Irene CLARK

My most pressing problem is proof of death for John and Polly (WHITNEY)
PERKINS.

John was born 25 Feb 1789 at Leominster, MA and died at Morris, IL 3 Nov
1868. He married Polly on 6 Feb 1816. He was the son of Benjamin and
Lydia (Hawkes) Perkins.

Polly was born 25 Oct 1792 at Westminster, MA, and died at Morris, IL 10
Aug 1874. She was the daughter of Jonas and Betsy (Raymond) Whitney.

I need this proof to complete my SAR application. Morris, IL does not
have death records prior to 1878.

I also have a Mary WHITNEY (ca1732-1826) who married Jonathan SAWIN
(1735-1822). She was born and married at Worcester, MA and died at
Westminster, MA. I have no idea who her parents were.

I have only been a member of this group for about a month and I have been
much impressed with the material that I see and everyone's willingness to
help each other.
