Elizabeth BARNARD was born 29 Oct 1684, Watertown, MA, daughter of John and
Elizabeth (CUTTING) BARNARD, granddaughter of John and Sarah (FLEMMING) BARNARD
and of Richard and Sarah (-----) CUTTING, and great-granddaughter of John and
Phebe (-----) BARNARD and John and Anne (-----) FLEMMING. The marriage record
to John-4 WHITNEY [Thomas-3 and Elizabeth (LAWRENCE), Thomas-2, John-1], is
dated 2 Mar 1709/10, and recorded both in Stow Vital Records and in Watertown
Vital Records (see http://www.erols.com/rlward1/whitney/stow.html and
http://www.erols.com/rlward1/whitney/watertown.html). In neither case is her
name given as "LEE", but as BARNARD. This is indicative, but not definitive,
that she had no previous husband.
