Thank you for your reply. Basically I'm new to Genealogy and the information
posted to date is what was given to me by my cousin.

Basically I know nothing of the WITNEYS let alone the ones in Chinnor. I have
been trying to learn about their location so I can locate the Census records
to obtain more details.

From my understanding Oxfordshire is a little north west of London is that
correct and this would be the location of Chinnor?

I am after any information that anyone is willing to share, including
origins of the name, etc or any advice or info forthcoming.
