Hello, fellow WHITNEY Researchers,

I am trying to link my great, great grandmother, Diadamia WHITNEY, to the
John WHITNEY of MA line. I think she is possibly the youngest daughter of
Hezekiah 5 who m. Olive KNIGHT. In the WHITNEY lines the name is spelled
Diadama, but I think it may be the same person.

My Diadamia WHITNEY m. James A. THOMAS (1802-1880)
Diadamia was b. 1801 and d. 16 Feb 1880 in Hamilton, Caldwell Co., MO.

Reasons for this possible connection:

1. She would be only 17 years old in 1818, so would be living with her
parents.

This information is in the Whitney data base:
7. Diadama b. ___________(living with her parents in 1818 as mentioned
inher father's pension affidavit)

2. Her father, Hezekiah b. 1748, would have been 53 when she was born,
but this is quite possible, as she was his last child

Reasons against this connection:

1. . I don't think the birth date of Olive Knight is known. However, she
would be old to be having another child. This is the only factor which
makes me doubt this connection. Their marriage was in 1774.

2. Census gives NY as place of birth for Diadamia

Can you help me? Do you have any further information on Diadama (Diadamia)
that would prove or disprove this connection? Thank you so much for your
time.
