In "History of Windsor County, Pt.2" (Vermont) p. 851 there is a
biographical sketch about John D. Powers. It contains a reference as
follows:
"For the next twenty years he was an employee of the Daniels' Machine
Company of Woodstock, and afterwards with A. W. Whitney & Co. for five
years. He then again turned his attention to farming, which he followed
until his retirement from active business in 1875."

Is anyone familiar with this company? I have not found any reference to
it in this history with this exception.

Who was the owner/owners, where was it located and what type of
business?
