Hi WRG!

I found information on another Whitney in Minnesota that is unconnected to my
branch. So I was just going to give some basics and offer to send it to the
person who can claim the connection BUT...
I need help on this one. It kind of threw me. So if you connect - please
contact me.

I have a short biographical sketch for Joseph W Whitney. Born Lawrence, MA
March 7, 1880. he was only a few months old when his parents moved to
Minnesota.
Father Charles C Whitney
Mother Nellie A Johnson of Bethel Maine.
Siblings Dick, Jack, and oh no - this is real... his sisters name is "Minne
Sota, wife of Fred A Hill" (geesh) - I bet brothers are Richard and John.
AND a 1/2 brother named Frank C.
( I am wondering if I could claim a relative that named their daughter Minne
Sota).

The rest of the article expounds on his accomplishments in Minnesota and the
state of Washington and also Oregon.

BUT... what grabbed me was a tiny blurb about his father.
"In 1876 Mr Charles C Whitney married Mattie M HOGLE. She died in 1877
leaving one son, Frank C. In 1979 Charles C Whitney married Nellie A
Johnson..."
the rest of the info is noted previously.

Now - my married name is HOGLE - I would love to know who Mattie Hogle was.
We have reached brick walls on that family.

So if you can connect to this family in any way, please contact me. I will
share the article and information gladly.
