Are you searching for Whitney's in Michigan.? I am also. My ggrandfather
DANIEL R WHITNEY b. Ohio or NY m. Isyphena DOW (surname) in Jackson, Michigan
1847. Both DANIEL R.(age27) were on the 1850 census as was a neighbor ISRAEL
WHITNEY (Age 30) b. Ohio and his wife Melissa.
We have been looking for decades for the given name of Daniel's father who
was a professor and went to Michigan to establish schools.
In nn article in "Progressive men of Iowa" his son states that they were in
Rives, Jackson, Michigan. However so far I have been unable to find any
connection with the Whitneys in your message. They were both in that area
about the same time.
The Obediah Whitney (of Rives twsp, Jackson Mi) family is on the Whitney-
John and Elinor database
