Hello...

I've just joined this list, and am currently trying to find any information
on my Great Grandparents, Egbert & Matilda Whitney, from New York.

On the 1880 & 1885 Richardson County, Humboldt City, NE Census the family
was listed as:

Egbert age 39 (born in New York)
Matilda age 36 (born in New York)
George Roe age 12 (my grandfather) b. 1873 d. 1928
Clyde age 6
Earl or Ervin age 4
Eva or Evelyn age 2 1/2

There is also a brother, Ray mentioned in George's obituary.

All of the children were born in Nebraska. Egbert was a carpenter.

George married Myrtle Emma Price in Lincoln Nebraska in the early 1900's,
and they had two children, my father, George Roe Jr (b.1911 d. 1966) and
Marjorie (b. 1908 d. 1942 in Havana, Cuba).

This is as all the information I've been able to get on my father's side of
the family. He never spoke of aunts and uncles, except for those on his
mother's side, although it appears he had one aunt and three uncles on his
father's side.

Any information anyone might have would be greatly appreciated.
