Tonight on the Franklin County maillist there was a series of postings on the
Montague family, and I checked it for Whitneys and found the following.
Clearly, if Laura Montague is #87, there is considerable ancestry for her
available. I do remember seeing these Whitney names on our list before, so
maybe this will fill in some gaps. I'll save the collection of Montague
messages for a few days, in case anyone wants more of Laura's ancestry.

87. Laura MONTAGUE was born on 3 Jun 1789 in Hadley, Hampshire,
Massachusetts.446 She died on 18 Nov 1863 in Lafayette, , Wisconsin.447

She was married to Isaac WHITNEY (son of Ebenezer WHITNEY and Rachael Parne
RAWSON) on 16 Jul 1818.448 Isaac WHITNEY was born on 22 Jan 1788 in
Montague, Franklin, Massachusetts.449 Laura MONTAGUE and Isaac WHITNEY had
the following children:

196. William Montague WHITNEY was born on 28 Aug 1819.877,878 He died on 24
Apr 1893 in Fairfax, Linn, Iowa.879,880 John Marsh of Hartford, CT; Marsh

Resided in 1884 in Fairfax, Iowa. He went west to Rockport, Illinois about
1836 when 17 with his uncle Richard Montague.

He was married to Augusta Hawley MARSH (daughter of Enos MARSH and Rebeccah
HAWLEY) on 6 May 1846.881 Augusta Hawley MARSH was born on 16 Apr 1827 in
Montague, Franklin, Massachusetts.882 John Marsh of Hartford, CT; Marsh

After the death of her father, lived for a time with her grandfather
Chester Hawley
of Plainville, Hadley, Mass., then went to Wisconsin. William Montague
WHITNEY and Augusta Hawley MARSH had the following children:

1879.890 She was married to Leander CROSBY on 27 May 1865.891
