Dear WRG,
I received this note shortly after I wrote about Lyman as a given name.
It does not help as far as some of these individuals named Lyman, but it
explains why Lyman Beecher is named. I obviously was in error when I
claimed that Beecher had no familial connection to a Lyman. Beecher and I
even have a common ancestor, but I am not as familiar with his pedigree as I
should be. [Sigh.]
