I badly need some help in meeting the demands of the DAR.. James Whitey was a s. of Ezekiel Whitney, the Revolutionary solider, and my ancestor. James was born in CT, and married Sarah Trumpbour in Trumpboursville, outside Saugerties , Ulster Co. NY in Nov 179l. He supposedly died in Weedsport, Cayuga Co., NY in l835. This information from the Phoenix books. His daug. Eleanor Catherine Whitney m. Peter Philo Myer, my great grandfather, Feb. 17, 1849. Does anyone have any other confirmatory information on the birth or death of James Whitney, other than the Phoenix boos? Does anyone have any ideas on the place of marriage of Peter and Eleanor? I've been up a number of blind alleys on these quests, but am working far from the geographic area, with poor knowledge of primary sources there. Sincerely, Gail.
