Dear Angela:

I'm probably the most visible PAF user in the WRG, so I guess maybe I'm the
one to try and help. Can you figure out how to create a GEDCOM that works
back from Mary Jane Whitney? If you send it to me, I can try to figure out
where and how it fits into our current collection of Whitney data. Then I
could advise you on how and where to start in creating one to link your line
into the existing Whitney data collection that Jon maintains. We do want to
get everything that you have from the link point on down to your generation
(omitting the personal details of living persons), so the question is really
where to start in the linkage to what is already in Jon's database. I'll
also try to find any differences or conflicts, so that they can get resolved
before the data gets integrated. At the same time, we do want to avoid
extending lines that married into yours back beyond the point where they link
in, so we can't easily merge in your whole database from you on back.

We always are delighted when we find a new link to another line that branches
off from what we do have already. Your information will be most valuable to
all of us. Thanks for asking about how to bring it in.
