Since Martha (FLETCHER) WHITNEY named children Abigail and Elisha
Fletcher, and Abigail (FLETCHER) WHITNEY named children Martha and
Elisha, I think that this identification is very likely. The sisters
you mention had a brother named Elisha FLETCHER.

Weighing against this identification is the fact that neither WHITNEY
wife named a son John, after the father, and only one of them named a
daughter Mary, after the mother. The other FLETCHER children seem also
not to have been remembered in the names of the children of the two
WHITNEY families.
