Dear WRG: Quite alot has been contributed to WITNEY15 for Samuel & Abigail (Fletcher) Whitney. I discovered that my database had more information on some of their children:

1) Abigail Whitney, b. 27 Aug 1742 Westminster, Mass. Marriage Intentions were filed in Templeton, Mass. on Mar 1769 between Abigail and Job WHITCOMB, son of Jonathan and Deliverance (NUTTING) WHITCOMB. She was Job's second wife and they had 6 children.

2) Mary Whitney, b. 29 May 1744 Westminster, Mass. She married 1st in Westminster on 9 Nov 1769 Elijah GIBBS, son of Samuel GIBBS. She married 2nd on 22 Oct 1781 in Fitchburg Edward SCOTT. I have one child recorded - Susannah GIBBS b. 9 July 1770 Westminster.

3) Samuel Whitney, b. 11 Feb 1745/46 Westminster. He married in Westminster 30 Jun 1784 (intentions filed there 1 Jun 1784) Thankful (--?--). Samuel died in Westminster 8 Jun 1812. I have 4 children recorded for this couple, but the 1800 Westminster census lists them with 5 still living at home in 1800: 2 girls under age 10 and 3 boys between the ages of 11 and 16.

4) Abner Whitney - no more changes

5) Achsa Whitney - She was born and died in Westminster. (Note: WITNEY15 lists her as a male. VRs state she was a daughter)

6) Silas Whitney - no additions

7) Martha Whitney - She died the same day she was born: 26 Nov 1755 in Westminster.

8) Elisha Whitney - no additions

9) Alpheus Whitney, b. 25 Feb 1759 in Westminster. He married in Westminster on 11 Oct 1792 (intentions filed there Feb 1792) Esther HARTWELL (b. 7 Feb 1759, d. 7 Sep 1846) 'of Fitchburg'. They had no children. Alpheus died there 7 Mar 1821.

10) Phinehas Whitney - no additions

11) Hananiah Whitney - Notice that the marriage link to his wife, Azubah KEYES, is missing although she is listed as the mother of his children. They were married 10 Oct 1787 in Ashburnham. According to my data, the daughter listed as Bernia is spelled Barsina.

12) Martha Whitney, b. 18 Sep 1764 Westminster. She married 1st in Leominster Benjamin SEAVER (b. 21 Apr 1757, d. Jul 1816), son of Norman and Sarah (READ) SEAVER. I have not recorded their 10 children. She married 2nd Isaac SEAVER.

13) Susannah Whitney, b. 9 Feb 1767 Westminster; died young.
