Dear WRG: A few updates for the descendants of William and Martha (Peirce) Whitney:

First of all, she was Martha PEIRCE, dau. of Joseph PEIRCE and his 1st wife Martha (--?--), born in Watertown on 24 Dec 1681. Her surname is spelled PIERCE in several other records.

Their children:
1) William Whitney, b. 11 Jun 1707 Watertown. He died in 1789 Weston. He was married 4 times. WITNEY15 contains a record only of one child by his 1st wife, Hannah HARRINGTON, namely Phineas Whitney (see c) below). My records include other children of William and Hannah (Harrington) Whitney:
a) William Whitney (1736-1815) m. Mary Mansfield - 7 children
b) Hannah Whitney (1738- ) m. Henry Spring
c) Rev. Phineas Whitney (1740-1819) m. Mrs. Miriam Willard and 2nd Lydia Bowes. (WITNEY15 has desc. of Rev. Phineas' son Thomas; I will add 9 more children & their spouses)
d) Mary Whitney (1742-1743)
e) Mary Whitney (1744- ) m. Amos Fiske
f) Sarah Whitney (1746- ) m. John Rayley
g) Nathaniel Whitney (1748-1751)
h) Joel Whitney (1749-1750)
i) Susanna Whitney (1751- ) m. Isaac Mead
j) Abigail Whitney (1753- ) m. Dr. Samuel Curtis

2) Judith Whitney, b. 15 Nov 1708 Weston; bapt. at 'a. 19y' 21 Jan 1728 Weston.
3) Amity Whitney, b. 6 Oct 1712 Weston; m. Sebeus GRAVES on 14 Oct 1730 in Sudbury
4) Martha Ann Whitney, b. 4 Apr 1716 Weston; d. 15 Apr 1801 Westminster; m. in Weston on 20 Jan 1734 Timothy MOSMAN. Children.
5) Samuel Whitney, b. 23 May 1719 m. Abigail Fletcher - changes mentioned earlier.
