Hi Everyone!

First , I would like to thank Allan Green and Robert Ward for
their support and willingness to back the WRG Reunion financially.
These guys are generous in their knowledge of Whitney genealogy,
top notch in research technique and are the backbone of the Whitney
L list! I know many of you are looking forward to meeting them
at the Reunion 2002. Their offer to share in financial support
of the Reunion by co-signing a contract along with me to
guarantee a minimum number rooms to the hotel shows how
committed they are to the Whitney Research Group. Thanks to both
of them!

Lyn and I agree that no one should sign contracts, and that the
Reunion 2002 should proceed as originally planned. We don't
want anyone to take on a financial risk. Each member of the WRG
will be responsible for making their own reservations. Room prices
quoted to me by the Sheraton are from $95-149.

PLEASE DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS NOW. We are going to wait until
after the new year to make our reservations. Who knows what will
happen between now and next August ? There is a chance the hotel
will come down in price and allow us to book rooms for the
$84, the price we would have been allowed by signing a contract.
We'll make plans for meals together after we get a better idea
of the weekend program.

The Whitney Research Group Reunion will take place August 9-11,
2002 at the Sheraton Inn in Lexington, Ma. From responses I
have received in the past 2 weeks, there are about 60 extremely
committed WRGers who plan to attend. It should be a great
Reunion!

Much work needs to be done on the program. Lyn already has
some terrific ideas, contact her with your thoughts. What would
you like for a program? We want to make sure the Reunion 2002
offers something for all .

Let us know what you would like. The Whitney Research Group
Reunion 2002 is going to happen!

See you in August!
from, Carolyn
