I have posted this request before, but maybe some new information has turned
up that I do not know about. I am at a brickwall with my John Whitney.
According to every census record that I have seen, he was born in MA in
1784. He married Polly Gibbs, most of their children were born in NY,
eventually they moved to Wisconsin where Polly died, then to IL where John
is buried. John and Polly had four children that I know of, Melinda,
Truman, Elijah and Chauncey.
I would be glad to share any information.
