Dear David: First of all -- Congratulations!! I know it is very satisfying to have it all "done". As you can see, I've sent a copy of this message to the Whitney List so everybody there can see your line. You never know when someone might be looking for your surnames.

Jon Aston maintains the database for John and Elinor and would be glad to add your info to it. Email him for instructions - .

Jeanne,

I've been researching my family history for over a year and I've finally
received all of the official documents for my Whitney ancestors. I've been
a silent member of the Whitney list and now I am ready to contribute. Here
is how I trace back to John:

David Hunter (1967 - )son of
Daniel Hunter (1931 - 1989) and Jacque Livinghouse (1934)son of
Alan Hunter (1889 - 1961) and Mary Whitney (1903 - 1956) daughter of
Daniel Whitney (1867 - 1952) and Caroline Knorr (1873 - 1960) son of
Daniel Whitney (1829 - 1866) and Rosena Bader (1838 - ?) son of
Daniel Whitney (1795 - 1862) and Emmeline Henshaw (1803 - 1890)son of
(Daniel is listed in your database with a birth date of abt 1790)
Samuel Whitney (1758 - 1831) and Mary Whitney (1761 - 1835) son of (they
were third cousins and Mary can be tied to John as well)
Joseph Whitney (1716 - ?) and Mary Hastings (1725 - ?) son of
Timothy Whitney (1678 - ?) and Margaret Bacon (? - 1750) son of
John Whitney III (1643 - 1726) and Elizabeth Harris (1644 - 1726) son of
John Whitney II (1620 - 1692) and Ruth Reynolds (1623 - 1692) son of
John Whitney I and Elinor

I can send you a GEDCOM with the descendants that I have of Samuel Whitney
to the present. This will add around 125 people to your database. Let me
know how you want me to proceed.

Thanks,
David Hunter
