Karl,
It's always nice to hear from people who share a common ancestor (ancestors) with me and especially ones that are so close on a particular branch!
I recently learned that the book Fred Farnham Whitney,a Vermonter, wrote in 1977 has been transcribed on the Whitney Research Group. http://www.whitneygen.org/archives/extracts/tunbridge.html

Also there is a book you can purchase from the Tunbridge Historical Society or from the Tunbridge Public Library entitled " Tunbridge Past A Pictoral History of Tunbridge,Vermont" by Euclid Farnham. It cost me $20.00 and has lots of photos of Whitney Hill, and Whitney homes and barns that still are standing as well as of Tunbridge itself. There's also information on the town and its people. Some of the buildings in the book I took photos of and can e mail you them but others I wasn't aware of until after I was home and looking through the book so now I need to make another trip to Tunbridge sometime in the near future. The address for the Historical Society & library are:

Tunbridge Historical Society
24 The Crossroad
Tunbridge,VT 05077

Tunbridge Public Library
RR 110
Tunbridge,VT 05077

The society focuses exclusively on Tunbridge and promotes the town's history through preservation of artifacts and documents, research, and field trips.Contact Persons: Euclid Farnham, President, or Kay Jorgensen, Vice President

E mail me privately at and let me know what information on our Tunbridge Whitneys you have and or what you're missing and then I won't risk dending you stuff you already know. Or perhaps you'd prefer I send my entire file and in that case I could send you it so you could download it (that is if you keep your data on any type of family tree software program). As for all the photos I took of Tunbridge Whitney tombstones ,buildings, lands and those individuals related to the Whitneys by marriage I have several and would be more than happy to send them to you via e mail.

I look forward to hearing from you and corresponding with you on a regular basis....
Your Distant COusin,
Noreen Maloney LaTour
Burlington,Vermont

P.S. I noticed you live in New Mexico. I have an uncle (who's also a Whitney descendant ) that lives in Alamagordo,New Mexico. He was in the Air Force at White Sands and now is a civilian worker there.
