First to Robert Ward, what a wonderful contribution the corrections are and
what a tremendous amount of work it must have been!! Thank you! In the
several years I have working online this is without a doubt the best group
with so many "real" genealogists, I'm just an ameteur and have learned so
much from you all.

Now for my question. Before I get all excited about going to the reunion I
need to be sure I'm a real Whitney descendant. Below is what I think the
line is but the "Descendants of John Upham" by F.K. Upham p 161 has
Jonathan's wife as Polly Wilson with the same dates, no parents. Jerusha
Stone Upham and Mehitable Wilson Upham seem to be named for grandmothers if
Polly really is a Whitney. Perhaps Wilson is a mistake.

Does anyone have access to any records that might clear this up? I would
really appreciate any help.


1. Jonathan UPHAM. Born on 26 Jun 1761 in Killingly,CT/Dudley, MA. Jonathan
died in Windham, VT on 15 Jul 1827; he was 66. Buried in Windham, VT.

On 19 May 1787/1789 when Jonathan was 25, he married Polly (Mary, Molly)
WHITNEY, daughter of Joshua WHITNEY & Mehitable WILSON, in Dudley,
Worcester, MA. Born on 19 Oct 1766 in Spencer, Worcester, MA. Polly died
in Windham, VT on 14 Oct 1843; she was 76.

They had the following children:
2 i. Mehitable Wilson (1789-1853)
3 ii. Roxana (1791-1855)
4 iii. Sophia (1793-1836)
5 iv. Jerusha Stone (1794-1849)
6 v. Mary (Polly) (1796-1848)
7 vi. Gardner (1798-~1898) (I have a picture of him on
his 100th birthday!)
8 vii. Jonathan (1800-1878)
9 viii. Asahel (1802-1833)
10 ix. Ebenezer (1805-1876)
11 x. Zenas (1807-1810)
12 xi. Zenas Hervey (1811-1892) (my ancestor)
13 xii. UNNAMED
