Hello Deb,
I am familiar with almost all of the families mentioned here, and am
unaware of a Jeremiah in any of the households. That is not to say there was
not one. After all, look at Mike Poston's Jabez, who appeared out of nowhere
in a well-known family. The information I passed on to you previously says
that your Jeremiah was a native of Greene, Maine and was a third generation
in that town. His father, of unknown name, was a tanner in Greene, and his
grandfather, also of unknown name, was said to be "an Englishman". What
exactly "an Englishman" means, I cannot say. However, I believe that this
family has orgins other than in a well-known Maine Whitney family. We have
other members of the WRG who are unconnected, but have northern Maine and
Canadian ties. Perhaps your Jeremiah is of a lineage connected to one of
these families. Good luck in your quest.
Ken Whitney,
Silver Spring, MD

there any way of telling who was in a family?
