WRG:
This week I found some information on a Civil War veteran named John A. Whitney while helping in someone else's research. John was born 3 February 1841 in Stuben Co., New York, the son of William and Clarinda (Dolly) Whitney. According to John's testimony, These were the family members:
William and Clarinda Whitney's children:
Daughters: Elener, Priscilla, Lovina, Betsy, Olive, and Rozina
Sons: John, Mendal (sp.?), and Marshand (sp.?)
John was married four times, and died 20 March 1921 in Horton, Jackson Co., Michigan. He moved from Allegheny Co., NY to Jackson Co., MI in 1872. If you can claim this soldier, please contact me. I have uncovered a treasure trove of historical and genealogical information.
