Hi Everyone,

Thanks to Robert for the interesting list of Grantees and Grantors.

I am confused by the listing. Weren't Grantors always the town or
selectmen or possible the colony of Massachusetts? But in every
case, for the list Robert provided , names are listed. Are Grantors
sometimes the sellers? I thought a grant was land received for
free with the understanding that within a certain period of time
improvements would be made on it.

Can anyone help?
