Here is more of the material presented by Paul W. Allred, who has given me
permission to pass on Whitney material. This is, I believe, the first one
such posting that he has published that focusses on our Whitney family.

He was married to Harriet Sophronia PRENTICE (daughter of Rufus PRENTICE and
Mary WHEELOCK) on 25 Nov 1847 in Grafton, Worcester, Massachusetts. Harriet
Sophronia PRENTICE was born on 13 Oct 1828 in Grafton, Worcester,
Massachusetts. Samuel Curtis WHITNEY and Harriet Sophronia PRENTICE had the

3 i. Samuel Edgar WHITNEY was born on 4 Nov 1848 in Grafton,
Worcester, Massachusetts. He died on 9 Sep 1849.

He was married to Jesse A. STONE (daughter of Charles E. STONE and Ella M.
