Dear Doris, I certainly appreciate your sending me the information. The day
it came i planned to go immediately and shout "I got it , I got it."
But instead I sat down to read it. and kept reading. The WRG has been very
busy with more information every day. You will never really know how much I
appreciate it. Thank you so very much.

I thought I would go to the reunion when it was first planned, but I needed a
traveling companion. I lost my husband of 56 years abt 2 years ago. I am
learning to "walk alone" and it is not easy. The WRG are great. I have
been in it almost from the beginning-have not contributed much and still am
unconnected.
My gggrandfather unknown Whitney, a professor, left NY to go to Michigan to
establish schools. My ggrandfather evidently was b. along the way in
Ohio-Daniel R. b. 1822 in Ohio. The elder Whitney retired in Rives, Jackson
Co, Michigan. Daniel R. Whitney married Isapheny (many spellings) DOW in
Rives, 1847, My grandmother Rosina Whitney was b. 1851 in Jackson Co. MI. A
few years later the family was in Marshall County Iowa-(Rosina was the only
girl who lived to be an adult. She had nine brothers all lived in Iowa until
they were married. Then they too scattered. We have been able to find all
of them. I believe Daniel R's father to be the Daniel Whitney in Jackson
co, MI on the 1850 census mortality list to have died in Jan. of that year.
I must find the time to verify this which has been our brick wall for so many
years.
Thank you again. You quickly became a good member of WRG. It is great
to have you aboard.
