Dear WRG:

This is simply to get on record in our archives (if there is not something
already there) about the mistake in the Whitney Whistler Vol. 7, Issue 1 in
which the Jonathan Whitney who married Lydia Jones is identified as a member
of the third generation and shown as son of John2 and Ruth (Reynolds)
Whitney. He is, of course, John2's younger brother, having been born in
England in 1634, just the year before his parents, John & Elinor Whitney came
to Watertown from England. John2 and Ruth Reynolds Whitney did not have a
son named Jonathan among their ten children.
