Here is what I found on your Whitneys. The elder Nathan(1769-1852) appears
in the 1840 census with sons Dennis and Appollos in Marshall co.,
Virginia(presently Wheeling, W,Va,). He was 71 years then.

The second Nathan(1798-1851) in 1840 was allready in Ohio. He lived beside
his son Jonah in Lorain co. in Pittsfield TWP.

In 1850 the elder Nathan(1769-1852) lives with his wife Eunice in the same
place as before. That is to say-Marshall co., Virginia. No kids were with
him. He was 81 born in Maine and his wife was 71 born in Mass.

The next appearance is 1859-Kansas census- Jonah W. Whitney appears in
Franklin co., Peoria TWP.
No trace of any Nathan Whitney.

The second mentioned Nathan Whitney(1798-1851) married a Mary ?? Your
complete name to go with the Mary is new. Mary Ann Hensel. However we show
no son named Nathan for him. His last son in that line documented is George
Whitney b.ABT 1842.

As you will find in the WRG site- anything past the original emigrants John
and Elinor has been disproved in the last 40 years. That slices your Thomas,
Robert, Robert, Eustace de Whitney off. Sorry about that. Unless your great
aunt had something new and unseen. That would be awesome!

Our DNA test we just finished had 12 markers tested in the Y-DNA and any
Indian forebears in your line would show up. If these forebears were in the
male line. And I believe your male line is all English. The female line
could be tested by you and discovered to be Indian. That is a different test
we haven't tackled yet. You femmes are just too complex!

In conclusion- I wish I had a 1850 census on Nathan Whitney(1798-1851). That
is where I believe we would find any late children past the last documented
George Whitney. I will keep looking later.

Your DNA help mate,
James E. Whitney,II
P.S.-My line goes through W.Va. too in 1880 however.
