Hello Jinny
I am forwarding Bennett Greenspan's response regarding the possible
identification of your possible Native American ancestors. As Jim
Whitney pointed out, you would probably have to have a clear shot
through the female line to do the testing, but there is mtdna testing
done on women (mother to daughter to daughter). He has a Native
American database which might help you to identify N.A. ancestry. Feel
free to contact him directly as to how you could test this.
Good luck
Whitney Keen

We have a few different tests for native Americans.
IF the lineage is 100% straight female to female to female then the
Native Match will show this relationship. IF the lineage is not
straight, so if it's female male female (ex. Only) then the DNAPrint
test will tell the % of Native Ancestry, like 6% NA and 94% European.
E-mail any time.

Hello Bennett:
If I remember correctly, you have some sort of dna testing for native
Americans. Is there anything this lady can do via dna to confirm (or
not) the native American ancestors?
She cannot participate in the Whitney y-dna project, because she is
female. But I wasn't sure if there was anything you could offer her
outside of the project.
You can get back to me and I will pass the information on.
Thanks

the dates given are off but interesting info. She gives several
references to Indian heritage, that the Nathans (there are several)
married into Indian tribes but I don't know which tribes. Supposedly
there was paperwork
showing
this several generations ago but was destroyed. How can I find any of
those
documents? If they can't be found is there anyway to do DNA testing to
show
Indian ancestry? "
Thanks for any help you can give me. Jinny Parks
