Dear Scott:
Welcome to the Whitney Research Group! We are delighted to have you with us,
and look forward with anticipation to your contributions after you make your
connection to that which is known to all. As to you and your son being the
last Whitneys in your line, maybe there is still time to change that <G>
Have you been with us long enough to have seen the series of postings about
the Whitney DNA project? If not, you can go back to the archives and find a
lot of information on the project, and Whitney Keen, who is leading the
project, will be happy to send you whatever information you might desire.
I realize that we don't have a whole lot of resource material for NH on our
website, but a whole lot of resource material is available to you once you
find your way back to Leominster, MA.
I have recently purchased the entire set of MA Vital Records to 1850 on CD,
so if you find yourself in need of a lookup later, please don't hesitate to
call on me. Along the same line (and this is the first time I've publicized
this to the WRG), I gave my wife a subscription to Ancestry.com for
Christmas, (yeah, sure, Allan!) and thus might be able to help with their
resources in the time period between where you are now in your research and
the middle of the 19th century in MA.
Again, welcome, and please ask for whatever help you need. The WRG is made
up of hundreds of people, and quite a few are both knowledgeable and inclined
to be helpful.
Sincerely,
Allan E. Green
