Carolyn: I was going through old stuff and caught the item about the loss
of yourMother last year. I'n sorry and know that it was a hard time for
you. You spoke of
your Mother once saying she was a strong and wonderful person. I know she
will be missed.
About Rugby:
Rugby is a small North Dakota Town. My very old Atlas says the
population is 3335.
We finally have snow here in Wyoming and it is cold so I'm not going out
to the car where
I have a newer map of N.D. Doubt if it has changed much.
It is located on Highway 2 coming from Minnesota in the East and going
West to Minot which
is one of the larger towns in N. D. Minot has an International Air Port.
It is 25 or 30 miles to the Canadian Border where the International Peace
Gardens are.
these gardens are part in the U.S. and part in Canada. Minot is probably
about 35,000 in population
now and could be bigger. I haven't been up that way for 5-10 years now
and places do seem to
grow.
The one who suggested Rugby probably took a dart and aimed at the
map!!Stop me if I
am wrong. My son went to college in North Dakota one year and told us the
State Tree was
a telephone pole. It was hard for him after growing up in the Black Hills
to go to N. D. where
he said you looked for miles and never saw a tree. North Dakota is ok
though, we love to go
there to pick strawberries!
Thats a thumbnail sketch for you of what little I know of Rugby, there
might possibly be
a gold mine of information that I don't know about,
If this were a possibility for the reunion (which I seriously doubt) I
would be there with bells
on. We Country folk are good at driving through the wide open spaces.
This one has to be signed: CHEERS!
