James,

Yes ,this is my g.grandfather's brother who was taken West as a child by
the Hiram Wood Family---first going to Illinois, where he married . I
see that all the children were born in Illinois.

I had family pictures of the children which he sent back to his family in
the east . Thru these pictures, I located descendants via the Internet a
couple years ago. I had put a query on Jefferson County, Nebraska
website listed the children w/ dates of birth. The next day, the cousin
responded. She and her sister had sought info for several years and they
descend from the son, Calvin.

James Whitney first went to Kansas and resided for a while in the Kansas
County bordering Jefferson Co., Nebraska.

The siblings----James, John and George S. Whitney (my g.grandfather)
all died the same year--1918. Have noted the names of wife and children
in red next to your message.

Whitney's descend from the son James C. Whitney. I do not know what his
