Thanks, Allan. I'd love to know what this group was doing in Claverack,
as my own Whitneys were living there at the time. (An early WRG
reunion, maybe?) I wonder if they're mentioned in the Columbia or
Albany county histories.
This is quite an impressive group. Didn't Samuel Clemons write "Huck
Finn", in which Elisha Wood recently starred? And didn't Sgt. Sadler
sing that Green Beret song, and Robert Taft serve in the US Senate? (I
took a credit card from a Robert Taft today, as well!) And Francis
Bacon and John Brown... But the best is the sentence "Peleg, darling,
comfort Eddy."
