I have serious doubts about how many "children" would be interested in
attending a reunion of people only distantly related to them who were
interested in family research. Mine are all grown, but when they were
middle school and high school age their summer priorities were (1)
Little league (2) Scout Camp (3) training the horses for shows,
competitive trail rides, and carrying the flag in our local
parades--seeing "close" relatives-- even first cousins-- were a distant
fourth!

Is it asking too much to have the committee to come up with two
proposals--one for summer and one for fall or spring and then have a
vote from those intending to attend?.

As Cynthia has pointed out, the DAR library is closed for the week of
Continental Congress which includes the 4th of July. I know that many of
the delegates who live far away go early and stay late so they can do
research before or after the convention.
