Dear Folks,

If at all possible I would like your help please with some information about
John Whitney who is the son of Henry and Elizabeth Olmstead Whitney. I am a
descendant of John Whitney and his wife Hephzibah Olmstead through their son
Samuel.
In the Whitney book it states that John Whitney was born in
Ridgefield, CT 1/28/1717, married his first wife Hephzibah Olmstead 6/15/1746
in Ridgefield, CT, that Hephzibah died in Ridgefield, CT 5/20/1753 and that
he married Thankful Benedict who was born 6/12/1727.
The book says on page 26 that John is known to have visited his son Samuel in
. Paris now Kirkland, Oneida Co, NY about 1797 when he was 80 years old. It
also says that neither the place nor date of his death nor information about
Thankful Benedict is known nor burial places for John or either of his wives.
It says that he lived the latter part of his life with his son Ezra, son of
Thankful at or near Johnstown. The book states that Thankful Benedict died
before John.
It occurred to me that John and Thankful might be buried at or near Johnstown
or South Salem or Salem where Elizabeth and Benjamin, siblings of Ezra
resided. It also might be that John, etc are buried in Ridgefield, CT where I
guessing Hephzibah might be buried.
If anyone has some thoughts, information regarding this e-mail I would be
