The records at the College of Arms are the main source
of the pedigrees in the appendices to Melville's book,
_The Ancestry of John Whitney_, which is where I found
them. Those were investigated by Henry Melville in the
19th century.

I know nothing about the Queen's Library at Windsor
Castle. Is there some reason to suppose that Thomas
WHITNEY or his ancestors somehow interacted with the
royal family?
