Hello Fellow Listers,
I am writing to appologize for your mailbox being filled with this
person's e-mail. He has literally signed up to EVERY mailing list in
Wisconsin and sends mail to all of them at once. Signing up to the lists
aren't the problem, the way he is going about it can cause the system to
crash.
I am not trying to tell any of you what to do, but I urge you not to reply
to him. I had someone who is seriously researching one of those surnames
reply to him and it turns out he is only after trashing Rootsweb. I was
notified from my cousin who has one of the surnames he was researching on
her husband's side. She was excited in finding what she thought would be a
connection and only turned out to be a person wishing for the demise of our
mailing lists on Rootsweb.
Being the list owner of these mailing lists, I have taken the actions I
could to block him out, however as many of you know, AOL members can have
several accounts and can change names daily, so it is almost impossible to
stop him without AOL stopping him, which is currently being worked on as I
type this.
Please keep in mind, no one has a problem with him signing up to every
mailing list, heck that is up to him, but when his intentions are strictly
to destroy it, he needs to be stopped and not encouraged,
Happy New Year one and all,
Debie
