This John Wickham also went by the surnames Wickenham and Wickingham.
John married Clarinda (Clarissa or Clara) Culver in Rome, Athens Co., Ohio
on 10 June 1814. She was called Clara all her life although her birth name was
Clarinda. She died 4 June 1882
John died 18 Feb 1863 in Rome, Ohio.
John applied for and received an 80 acre warrant (#7174) and sold it
legally. Then he applied for an additional 80 acres.
George Driggs was a friend from childhood in New York to both John and
Clarinda and gave a deposition to their marital status both before and after their
marriage and John's death. He stated that he had known them from childhood
and had even emigrated with them to Ohio about 1800 where they settled in Big
Run (now in Athens Co., Ohio).
