Yes, this is a really big mystery. I have researched this line for about
11 years or so and really thought at first that William and Abarilla were
the right ones. Then one day a man on the list I
belong found some records in either Pickens or Anderson Co., SC., or
somewhere in that vicinity (can't recall just off the top of my head)
that nearly definitely proved me wrong. I am now reasonably convinced
that I have been wrong for all these years. Which means I spent a lot of
time on the Gossett line that I didn't need to do.
I always thought that the William Wilbanks who married Edith Jackson
should be older but then I rationalized that sometimes people did marry
really young.
