Hi Beth and all:
If the Tories were the English sympathizers, when they came to Canada, they
were called United Empire Loyalists, or UEL. I have some on one of my
other lines. They settled anywhere from the maritime provinces (Nova
Scotia, PEI, and New Brunswick) to Quebec and Ontario. There were a lot of
crown grants going then, and they snapped up a lot of them.
