I've sent this before, but here's hoping someone out there hasn't seen it and
might have an answer. Where did Barnabas go, and who was he? It's bugging
me, folks!!!!

In December 1776, BARNABAS WILKINSON, THOMAS WILKINSON, Sr. and THOMAS
WILKINSON, Jr., enlisted in the 15th Virginia Regiment, Continental Line "and
was discharged by COL. JAMES WOOD in December 1779, which discharge has since
been lost or mislaid so that it cannot be found." (From statements signed by
James Mason, Capt, 15th Va. Rgmt., Continental Line.)
BARNABAS WILKINSON/WILKERSON became a "Seargeant" of the Continental line who
served three years, according to a statement signed on Nov. 21st, 1783, by
Benjamin Harrison, and witnessed by Thomas Meriwether.
BARNABAS and THOMAS WILKINSON were also listed together on "A List of
Soldiers of the Virginia Line on Contental Establishment who have received
certificates for the balances of there (sic) full pay agreeable to an act of
Assembly passed November Session 1781.
Does anybody on the WILKINSON surname list know who BARNABAS WILKINSON was?
Who his parents and siblings were, and where did he go after the
Revolutionary War, because he doesn't show up after that in the Sussex Co.,
VA., records.
Phyllis Wilkinson
The three WILKINSON men signed up for military service in Sussex Co., VA.,
apparently on the same day -- I know who Thomas, Jr. & Thomas, Sr., are (my
ancestors), and I assume BARNABAS WILKINSON was related to my ancestors --
but who is he?
