Subject: [WILLIAMS] Charles Williams Abt 1852

Am searching for a Charles WILLIAMS who married a Delia ? ? in Vermont
probably around 1877-79, as their oldest son (Frank Williams) was born in
1879. Their next son was Bert Ernest Williams (my Grandfather), there may
also be two daughters named Ellen and Carrie.

Letters I have from my oldest Aunt (now deceased) tell me that Charles and
Delia were born, raised and married in Vermont. She also said both Frank and
Bert were born in Vermont. Charles and Delia obtained a divorce (believe in
Vermont - am not sure). At the time of the divorce (or shortly thereafter,
when Delia remarried), she kicked Frank and Bert out (Frank was about 12 and
Bert was about 8 yrs old - so would have been about 1891). Story goes that
Frank took care of Bert - the two ended up in Valley Co., NE. - where Bert
met my grandmother (Nora Oliva Mattley), married - July 27, 1904 and had
seven children. My oldest Aunt mentions in her letters that Bert still had
relatives living in Vermont when she was a little girl as he always received
maple syrup from them for Christmas. Have no idea if these were relatives
of his mother (Delia ? ?) or his father (Charles Williams).

Was also told in letters from oldest Aunt that "her" Great grandparents on
the Williams side settled in the San Joquin Valley in California and may be
buried in Redding California?????? So - that would be Charles Williams'
grandparents which would therefore be my Great Great Grandparents. But do
not know if they are WILLIAMS or Delia's side of family.

Delia ? ? supposedly remarried many times - she also ended up in Nebraska
married to a man with the last name of Zarr and is supposedly buried with
him in either Thayer, NE or Lamora, NE (two different stories to check out).
Charles Williams supposedly died before October 11, 1927; as my youngest
Aunt said he was dead before she was born. Have been told some of the family
ended up in Missouri, Oklahoma & Nebraska after the divorce? She does
remember meeting her Grandma Zarr but knew no other name for her. Have no
further information on Charles Williams - no idea where he died or was
buried.

I'm sharing this convoluted tale with you because I need HELP!
---- tracing Frank, Bert, Carrie & Ellen might be difficult but
finding Charles and Delia ? ? Williams is something else. Thanks for
listening!
