Descendants of Colonel James Williams. October 29, 1955.

Colonel James Williams lived for a time in Granville, NC., and moved to Little River, SC.
He was a member of the S.C.Provincial Assembly in 1775.He was appointed Lt.Colonel of State forces in 1776.He participated in Battle Stono and gained a victory at Musgrove's Mill in August, 1730, was wounded and died while leading one of the attacking columns in the Battle of King's Mountain, October 08, 1780.m. Mary Wallace 1762.

This information was given by Carolyn Williams Creech, Swainsboro, Ga on October,1955.

Looking for the children of Colonel James Williams.
My line is coming rom Stephen Mills Williams, b Sept 15, 1826 Bryan County, Ga. d November 01, 1891 Bryan County, Ga. md. Carrie Eleanor Pughsley b Dec 26, 1836 Bryan County, Ga. d July 5, 1910 Dublin, Ga. She said she was a cousin of Robert E. Lee, but as yet haven't found that information.Daughter Emma Williams b Jan 18, 1854 Bulloch Cty, Ga. d April 21, 1929 md James W. Wright of Bulloch Cty, Ga., are my Great-Grandparents.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
