Waupaca County Post, January 27, 1938

Funeral services were for Mrs. Henrietta Hollis, Civil War widow were held in the Chapel Friday, January 14, 1:30 p.m. The Rev. E. B. Earle officiated. Mrs. Hollis was born in Baltimore, Maryland, Nov. 28, 1845 and died after a brief illness Jan. 12, 1938, in the Grand Army Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Hollis came to the Home from Marathon county on Sept 26, 1898, and Mr. Hollis died here in 1916. Interment for his widow was made in the Home cemetery beside his grave. Except to two other Civil War windows here who came in 1895 and 1896 respectively, her years of residence in the Home exceeded all other members. Survivors are a son, Loren of Superior, and several grandchildren. Two daughters preceded her in death. Her cheery personality, quick wit and friendly interest made her popular in Marston Hall where she had resided since her widowhood, and she seldom left the building in recent years. A beautiful floral piece from that Hall betokened their regard for her.
